bro mad_man,

I have no idea whether one of our bros here bought from the said PI, also i have no idea whether in your case the original (1st hand buyer) was also the same PI.

In case of 1st PI is different from Pinnacle, then for the warranty, you should check with Pinnacle how do they response due to the recall.
I'm pretty sure ALL of the PI cars in SG have effected with the recall.

Sorry can't help you further as my experience with PI is very limited.

I just want to highlight you that you better do check and re-check on every aspect of transfer ownership to the PI you deal with.

Dear Freeder bros here goes, manage to drop by Khang Auto today for my recall campaign. Im not very familiar with some of the techincal terminology which was explained to me, try my best to layman it, here goes ...

1) went down with letter at about 1300hrs, was told an inspection will be performed on the said defect/problem (defect in setting of the rocker arm & the retainer portion). Will be informed if any replacement is necessary or no problem found.

2) went to lounge hang around, at the same time check if other rides not under their warranty & like to perform inspection, will they do it. The answer is yes, labour & part (if need to change) will be charge accordingly. Ask roughly how much, was verbally quoted ~$150-$200 for inspection (labour), part cost depend on what will be changed can cost up to $1000 ('???' - my own response in my mind)

3) while vehicle was inspected i went to witness ...

below pic show rocker arm location ...

below pic show rocker arm
http://i64.servimg.com/u/f64/16/34/34/69/rocker10.jpg

4) job finish at about 1600hrs, was told no anomaly found except 'adjusted' some part of rocker arm assembly due to measurement by filler gauge found slight out of dimension/gap.

in summary it seems this recall incident may not result in a definate need to change in part, i was also told that from Khang auto experience from other jobs (apparently mine is not the 1st ... according to them), some may result in need to change part, some no need to change anything at all.
so freeder bros mayb dont need to worry too much ...

cheers,

edlim1

mayb shldnt use the word 'tuning' Razz sounds like after that ride may bcome turbo or something Laughing ... its more bias to 'adjustment' for mine i shld say, cause the 'foreign talent' who inspected my ride pointed to the rocker arm assy area say no problem found just ... 'adjusted' somewhere (he did not literally say 'somewhere', just tat i didnt quite catch where he say Rolling Eyes ).
i suspect the problem may be isolated at the rocker arm assy, corrective action may either b 'adjustment' if correctable or the need to replace altogether ... jus my personal view cause if it can be 'measured'/gauged, most likely it mayb gap specification somewhere in the assy (rocker arm, spring retainer, spring, valve etc) thats givin the prob .. mayb due to incorrect 'adjustment'/setting at factory which may lead to premature failure of part in the assy etc., just my personal opinion Rolling Eyes

cheers,

I find it strange. Tis recall is supposed to be a replacement of faulty parts irregardless whether it's damaged or not.
(The problems relate to a faulty lost motion springs which have been found to bend or break over time, resulting in a broken or stalled engine) quoted fr -> http://mintori.com/honda-recalls-1900-cars-in-singapore-for-engine-stalling-problem/
Hence how can say it's ok?????

my thinking exactly initially, i reiterated with them 'sure no need to change'? their response as what i shared earlier ... hope more bros can share your experiences eventually soon ...

bro Nick, my ride from PI ( formerly known as Cars n Stars).

they have asked me to go contact the authorised service agent.

in my case that will be MBM Wheel Power!

so will be contacting them this coming week and will post updates for the recall!

Okay here is my story. I bought the ride 2nd hand, so my agent called up to verified the ride is from Pinnacle. Den the PI actually said not all ride within the serial number given are being recalled. Very curious on how true is it..
