bro epixel, wow your case unique leh!

why your PI asked you to go another workshop?

since TWM is the authorised workshop that covers your warranty?

then again, you should not be paying for anything... Evil or Very Mad

unless your PI no longer exists... pale

call your PI and ask why you need to pay since its a recall by Honda.

i curious to know how are they going to reply you!

I did call and ask the PI, the worries if go TWM might
Not replace the parts if it still working fine. The workshop that the
Recommended will replace the parts no matter condition of the
Parts. Any feedback from TWM ?

if got problem and must replace also not your fault,

why should you bear the cost of replacement?

you should ask PI how Honda Japan or LTA fits into the puzzle.

but if TWM can certify in black n white that there is no problem,

then let it be. mine also no change after MBM say ok in black n white!

Epixel wrote:Finally got a recall letter from my PI, (AutoRich). But I realised it refer me to other workshop near ubi for the motion coil replacement, I need to pay $160 for labour.

where TWM offer me free of charge because I am under their warrantly.

Need advise to go to TWM or my PI delicated workshop? Will TWM change the parts accordingly?

Bro Epixel. We are on the same PI Autorich and the same situation( TWM warranty). In the letter stated that I need to pay S$160 for labour and the shop at Ubi. Im thinking we have warranty but why we need to come out with our own money which isn't our fault . Thinking of calling them and clarify regarding this issue.

Any of our brothers here have any experience about this recall? How much you paid? Or Free of charge?

Thanks to everybody. Hope we can have a clarification regarding this matter.

bro pbrian think you should also give TWM a call! Wink

but i totally agree that we should not be paying a single cent! Evil or Very Mad

the situation sholud be the same like the rest of our bros here, clown

they will check and just certify ok! geek

so if $160 is for a new replacement,

its a price to pay for reassurance!

Didn't cost me a thing here in Japan bro. Even got a courtesy car over night!

Sounds shady to me that you have to pay. Suspect
It's not a warranty issue, it's a recall by Honda.

I have received my recall letter, but I don't think I want to send my car for "Checking here & there" and "Nothings need to be replace" and yet still need to pay S$160 to the delicated workshop. Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

Oyabun san i believe pay $160 is to get a new replacement,

for assurance of mind!
Wink

PS: our inspection all ok, but this defect is due to wear n tear,
considering our FREED still new so very hard to say!

My question is will this workshop replace or change the parts accordingly?
What if we paid for the labour and nothing need to be replace?
This recall process should be free of charge because of our Freed is under Honda Japan recall warranty, and I don't understand why this workshop got charges?
So I am sorry that I not going to pay this for no things...

Bros. Any update . I was away since last week and I wasn't able to folllow up on this matter. I will call my PI and TWM tomorrow. In my opinion this should be the sole responsibility of Honda as a whole. There must be a coordinator for each country affected until it's finally resolved.I

Thinking of doing major servicing as well

bro FOC, most of us go back to our authorised workshop from PI.

but so far no replacement done if check shows no damage.

if peace of mind needed, you can pay to have it replaced.

Hi, new here Smile

Just got a letter from Motorzone. Apparently my PI (From Vincxx Evil or Very Mad who told me that they import the Freed cars themselves Mad ) also buy and resell Honda Freed from Motorzone (disappointment Mad ).

Now Motorzone request me to go to their authorized workshop to get it fixed
Parts cost $107
Labour cost $160.50
Time: 5 Hours

I like to ask Rolling Eyes ,if this is a world wide recall by Honda, then should we be paying for the parts when Kah motors are doing it FOC for their Freed customers? Are we suppose to be paying for everthing? affraid

Doesn't seems to be right here pale
Can some of our freeders here advise? cyclops

Thank you

bro htay, i also received this letter last week ...

as i have already brought my FREED for inspection of the "faulty" part and was deemed fine by the mechanic ...

i will be giving Motorzone a call tmr to find out more ...

but i feel they are trying to make a fast buck from us ...

my theories is either they are offering us a new replacement just for that peace of mind ...

or they are trying to earn from both sides, Honda Jepun and the consumers!!!

i will update my findings once available, do stay tune!

Bro htay,

Well another thing you can consider is TO SEND LETTER/EMAIL REPORT TO LTA cheers

I did it when the recall issue was on fire last year.

The best part, since there was not a single cent came out from my pocket, the workshop also "did" the same trick, they only "smell2, look2, hear2, and see2". They even DID NOT open the engine cover where the recall part is located on below/bottom side!!! Shocked affraid

One thing for sure, i would strongly suggest that it should not cost you any single cents on the recall matter, as it's a maker's decision on their safety precautious on product to make sure everything works fine. The cost for the recall should be born by the maker/importer.

Frankly speaking, with this recall issue, it really opened up my logic sense on seing/observing the car industry in Singapore.
It explained me good enough on why the Agent price is always on premium, while PI is always "cheaper".
Simple with the reason that you should not, can not, and must not expect too many on the "service after sales" if you purchase car from PI.
Yes there is warranty from PI, but in terms of workshop or (even worst) PI closed down, in the end, it's always customer who face high risk.
