Hola All,

I have 2nd "workshop call" after my 1st experience, they said, my car need to stay for the whole day (9am-6pm)at their workshop Mad scratch

Are they talking about checking period or what?

I have decided not to go for the 2nd call as i would rather keep my engine bay in "virgin mode" a.k.a untouchable from the inexperience technician.

i do really hope everything goes smoothly.

So any bros who has experience on the "checking plus smelling(if any)" please do share your experience ok?

I have confirmed that my workshop is TWM at 172 Sin Ming, same as u bro.

Will go next Sat for the insp before I drive to Penang mid June hoilday. Time required 4 hrs. Cost : FOC. Other bros, I suggest you print from Onemotoring and arrange the agent printed below and relevant workshop. I think for Freed, only two workshops know what tech insp and checking required for our Freeds recall . MBM and TWM.

Went in the workshop last sat at 0830 and immed take over by mech for the recall. Process took 2 hrs. All the rocker arms loosen, adjust and tighten. Valves also manually turn from the driver side wheel location. After the operation, no need to sign any , car adviser said this car is under their warranty.
Now I feel much safer to drive to Penang this coming week.

Batteries and air filter removed

VVT mechanic component exposed and service all rocker arm

Thanks for sharing bro nickf601,

For the safety reasons and peace of mind, i think i will use MBM or TWM for my Freed workshop.

I don't mind to pay for the checking, as long as the "rectification" has ben made.

If you are normal driver at 70 to 90 km, it should be Ok if the engine sudd "shut down" due to one of the rocker arm break off. If at high speed and on fast lane, you will not have time to filter to the shoulder lane and if other cars following quite close behind, they will not have time to act unless they are from the Formula One team drivers...

Yap, they printed me a letter stating they diagnose with no major defect with their equipment. Not sure if is this sufficient? Nothing mentioned about the rocker arm..

But physical inspection is required right. There is no equipment unless it's X-ray to check whether it's broken or not. Wat abt hair line crack..... ????? Which is Y I still waiting..... Not dare to make appt to have mine inspected yet....
